The UP STREAM SURFING Team
Everyone said it couldn't be done, but then we came. We didn't know and we just did it.
In 2016, we had the idea of surfing in cities in an environmentally friendly way. After more than 20 prototypes, we finally built a well-functioning and now patented system. After a successful test season in Zurich in 2017, we decided to quit our jobs and focus entirely on UP STREAM SURFING.
Our Base in Innsbruck
In 2018 we opened the world's first location in Innsbruck, trained 7 surf coaches and operated from the beginning of August until the end of October. In 2019 we operated a full season in Innsbruck for the first time and also a promotion tour through Austria, Germany and Switzerland was successful. Since then we are happy every time when we see how you surf with us against the current and the UP STREAM community grows!
Our mission
The mission of UP STREAM SURFING is to establish sustainable surfing solutions in the middle of cities, especially where you can't just go to the sea. With the UP STREAM system, we have already fulfilled a small part of our mission. In Innsbruck there is the first official surf school since 2019 - whether bridge surfing or Surf Gaudis for groups, we are proud to bring people closer to surfing in the middle of Innsbruck!

By bringing sustainable surfing solutions to the heart of cities, we want to make surfing accessible to everyone. Whether beginner, advanced, or professional, everyone should have the chance to learn how to surf.
That's why we offer a surfing alternative that is perfect for the river, that adapts individually to the surfer's difficulty, and is also CO2 neutral.
