You don't have to worry about drifting in the river. After a few meters you can swim out, with or without a board. Besides, if you miss an exit point, there are many other ways to get out of the river.
Nevertheless, we have of course always positioned a coach as a safety post, just in case.
Yes, you must be at least 16 years old to surf the river. However, if you are 16 or 17, you need a written consent from your parents or the person in charge of you.
Generally you should not swim or surf alone in the river. We have worked out a safety concept, which allows you to surf up the river without any worries. What does this concept consist of?
- Trained coaches are always on site. Rescue badge is a MUST, also there are regular training sessions where coaches maintain their practice level.
- We do not use loops. Because there is a risk with loops that you get caught under the water surface, we do not use them.
- Constant contact with the water rescue: we work closely with the water rescue. This can be on site within a few minutes.
- We do not surf in case of flotsam, high water, or other obstacles in the water.
- Lifeguards always on site. If you drift too far and feel that you can't make it out of the water on your own, we have placed a lifeguard who will pull you out if the worst happens.
Don't worry, we'll take care of the security.
